Wanderlust

I don't think i could be more bored of it here. The weather may be glorious but it still seems to be sodden with a sort of grey stagnant atmosphere. I don't want to be in liverpool on my 12 week break from all obligations and work. I want to wander the streets of spain. Wander the streets of some distant southern france village-eat cheese and sunbathe and fill myself to the brim with sangria. I've got wanderlust to say the least; and it needs quenching pronto.

Shall i part my hair behind?
Do i dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers and walk upon the beach,
I have heard the mermaids singing each to each,
I do not think that they will sing to me,
I have seen them riding seaward on the waves blown back

Little bit of T.S Eliot is just what one needs on a fine sunny day :)

I must have read that poem a thousand times and it never gets old. The uneasiness put forward about being old somehow makes me feel comforted. I can't wait to be old-knit and sew and read stories to grandchildren.

3.37am

So; it's very late, or extremely early should i say and the lights are out in all of the houses. The streets are being caressed with a shimmery yellow glow and the air is poignantly silent. I think sunrise is almost about to happen. The sky looks like a watercolour painting;fading from a pale, watery blue deepening into burnt siennas and pinkish tones. It's beautiful.
There's no point to this post really-merely to describe the beauty of my surroundings.
I've taken to going to bed at ridiculous o'clock much more lately and really the beauty that occurs when most are asleep is ridiculous.
It's a dreadful shame that people go through their lives thinking the world is ugly and tortured-if they just woke up at 3.30am and looked out their window, perhaps their cinicism would fade, like the palette of the morning sky.

Carey mulligan

Carey Mulligan :) Pictures, Images and Photos

She's graced my television only once when i watched 'An Education' for the first time. Her elfish charm fitted really well with the clumsiness of her character and she was a shockingly good actress for her age at the time-which i'm sure was 17 or something equally as ridiculously young. She's just lovely and i hope to see more of her in some other stunning indie films-bringing back the 60's crop-what a babe.

English exams

May be really sad to most that i find english exams, literature and language alike, really enjoyable. Cold halls, ticking clocks and wandering invigilators aside it's a lovely experience in which i get to write, which is nice as i have so little time to lately. Exams are the greatest time eater there is so, alas, my creative flow's been somewhat strangled by the revision of quadratic equations and momentum. The english exams have been a chance to escape my writing becoming rusty and most of the tasks have been really enjoyable.
It seems when you're young the things that are innately uncool, become infinately cooler when you're older. Okay, so that's quoting Sophie Dahl pretty much directly but only because i agree. She says that eating alone in restaurants becomes a really maverick and cool thing to do once you're over the ridiculousness of the childhood notion that you're uncool unless you have an army of people around you at all times.
So i've started a new blog for writing poems, stories, musings and articles when i find something interesting to scribble about. I'll avoid pretention and won't ask for praise hopefully you'll just enjoy what i've written. Hopefully this'll help the creative and consistant flow i'll need to write for a magazine.

Love always,

Jessie.
